Husband wife Minatures circa 1839

I am assuming this piece is English. It's framed in a period maple frame but I think it has been rematted since the back is covered in modern paper which I have not removed. Definitely a watercolor ina rovincal style. Each of the portraits is 6 inches wide and 7 inches long. The frame is 15 inches long and 19 inches wide.
